Biography

George was born in 1861 in Wake County, North Carolina. He was the son of Everett Pearce Robertson (abt.1831-abt.1911) and Martha Ann (Herring) Robertson (1834-1911).

According to newspaper accounts and the U.S. Census records, George was a merchant in the town of Little River in Wake County, North Carolina.

George married Lenora Catherine Weathers in 1868. George and Lenora had twelve children and raised them in Little River, North Carolina.

He passed away in 1949. He is buried at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Wendell, North Carolina.

Research Notes

  • George and Lenora have two children who were born before their certified marriage date. Both of those children, David Juston Robertson (born October 1880) and Mary Leila Robertson (born 1883), provide both George and Lenora as their parents at the times of marriage and death.
  • Marriage record is from 1886 and marriage date provided for 1900 U.S. Census was 1880.
  • Both George and Lenora were single and living with parents in June of 1880 at the time of the 1880 U.S. Census.
