Sarah (Robinson) Martindale was born in Lancashire, England.

Sarah was born about 1863. She is the daughter of James Robinson and Adelaide (Greenhalgh) Robinson, [1] and was Christened on 14 May 1878, age 14, at St Peter's Bolton le Moors. The family were living in Little Bolton and her father was an Iron Turner. [2]

Sarah was living with the family in Bolton until [3] after 1881 when she is 17 and working as a Card Minder in a Cotton Mill. [4]

On 1 January 1885 Sarah married Isaac Martindale who also worked in a Cotton Mill. They married at St James Church in Bolton. Witnesses were Isaac's sister Elizabeth and her husband Henry Crompton. [5] [6]

Isaac and Sarah remained living in Bolton and had 9 children between 1886 and 1904. Husband Isaac worked in the Cotton Industry. [7] [8] Isaac died in 1910 and in 1911 Sarah was a widow, and she remained in the same house[9] at 60 Charles Rupert Street, Bolton, [10] until she died in 1924. [11]
