Biography

John Durbin Robinson, son of Sawyer Robinson and Leah B. (Brooks) Robinson, was born on 5 Dec, 1846 in Brookville, Jefferson County, Iowa.[1] He appeared on the census of 26 July 1860 in the home of his mother and step-father at Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa.[2]

He married Melissa Swayne, daughter of William M. and Rebecca Swaine,

He was a farmer when he and Melissa appeared on the census of 27 June 1870 at Locust Grove, Jefferson County, Iowa. His brother was living with them.[2] Melissa died in Jan. 1880 and he was a widower, working as a farmer in the John Stever home when he appeared on the census of 18 June 1880 at Locust Grove, Jefferson, Iowa.[3]

He married Annie Williams on 8 Sep. 1885 in Central City, Nebraska.[4][1]

He was a day laborer when he and Annie appeared on the census of 15 June 1900 at Clarksville, Merrick County, Nebraska.[5]

John died on 10 July 1923 at Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska and was buried at Bellevue Cemetery, Bellevue, Sarpy County, Nebraska. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[1]
