Fred Rockhold brought to former home for burial - The sad news was received here last Sunday of the death of Mr. Fred Rockhold, formerly of this place but recently of Guinda, California. Mr. Rockhold was a resident of Belleville for several years, being employed at Hostetler's store a greater part of the time. Of late years his health had been failing and about eight months ago he resigned his position, sold his property and household goods and left for Guinda, California, where he hoped to regain his former strength. This he seemed to be doing, and wrote back that he was well pleased with the country and never felt better in his life, and the news of his death was unexpected and greatly surprised his many friends who were rejoicing to hear of his rapid recovery. The body was brought to Republic Wednesday, accompanied by the bereaved wife and children, Lafe Rockhold and Mr. Norton, a brother of Mrs. Rockhold. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at Union Valley, conducted by Rev. L.B. Parker. The deceased was a son of Mrs. and Mrs. J.M. Rockhold of Republic City. He was an honored member of A.O.U.W. lodge at this place, which order will attend the funeral services in a body.
