1861 --- Lawrence Co., AL. Marriage License. State of Alabama. Lawrence County. To any of the Judges of said State, any Justice of the Peace of said County, any Ordained or Licensed Minister of the Gospel of the State (having obtained a legal testimonial) or other person legally authorized: Know ye that These are to authorize you, or either of you , to solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between Edmund Waldrop and Elizabeth Roden of said County agreeable to the statute of such cases made and provided, and you are moreover required to return this License to the office of the Clerk of the County Court of said county within one months, under the penalty prescribed by law.
