Dr. Thomas Mozley in his Reminiscences, Chiefly of Towns, Villages and Schools describes Mary and her sister Elizabeth as remaining unmarried, Mary having rejected all her offers and Elizabeth having received none, and stated that they returned to live with their brother, a wealthy farmer, and manage his house for him following his divorce from his wife[2].
The 1841 census shows John Rogers, a farmer, living at Ranby House in Babworth, with his sisters Mary and Elizabeth and four servants[3]. Mary Rogers, formerly of Eckington Derby, but late of Ranby, Babworth was buried in Babworth on 29 Jun 1843, aged 60[4][5].
