Tollov was born about 1854. He was the son of Christen Hansen and Ingerborg Larsdtr. He passed away about 1935.
Immigrated from Norway at the age of 16 (with his parents and 4 of 5 siblings) and ultimately settled in Worth County, Iowa, which he represented for two terms in the Iowa House of Representatives. Installments of autobiographical accounts of his life appeared in the Northwood Anchor in the 1970s.
