Biography

Exekiel was born in 1698. He was the son of Jonathan Rose and Jane Nearon. He passed away in 1768. [1]

1768, May 26. Rose, Ezekiel, of Amwell Twsp., Hunterdon Co., yeoman; will of. Well advanced in years. Eldest son, Ezekiel, the plantation in Hopewell, joining lands of John Phillips, Jonathan Smith and others, he paying to his mother the 1/3 of the profits of the place. Son, Jonathan, the plantation I live on, joining lands of William Rokefelt, Jonathan Borross and others, when he is 21, he paying to his mother 1/3 the profits. Son, Charles, £200, when he is 21. Daughter, Sarah Phillips, 20 shillings. Daughter, Hannah Woolverton, 20 shillings. Daughter, Jean Quick, same amount. Daughter, Rachel Rose, various goods. Daughter, Jarusia Rose, also goods. Wife, Mary, is well provided for.

Executors—Andrew Smith, Jr., John Fidler and my son, Ezekiel. Witnesses—Andrew Smith, Sr., Timothy Fidler, William Rockfaller.

His Will: Well Striken in years, to eldest son Ezekiell Rose the plantation lying in Hop[e]well adjoining lands of john Phillips etc.; son Jonathan Rose the plantation I now Live on adjoining William Rokefelt Jonthan Borross and others..paying to his mother the third of the profit when he comes to 21; his mother to have the whole profit till then if she remains my widow; to son Charles Rose two Hundred pounds proclamation money, to be put to use for his profit to age 21; to daughter Sarah Phillips 20 Shilligs besides what she has had; to daughter Hannah Woolverton 20 shillings besides what she has had; to daughter Rachel Rose a fether Bed and Beding and a Cow and a Young hefer, etc.; to daughter Jarusia Rose a fether Bed and beding and a Cow and a young hefer etc. All legacies paid wife Mary Rose shall have half part of any money and other movable Estate and Like wise the west ... Room in my Hous where i now Live and good Sazeable fire wood at the dore to be provided and to have a guardin well fenced by my son Jonathan during her widowhood and no longer, the other half part of moveables to be sold and money put to use for two sons viz Jonathan and Charles until 21.
