Ruth Rose was born in Stubend Co., NY. As a child of six months old she came to Michigan with her parents and settled in Washtenaw County.
She married William Ellsworth and to them were born seven children.
She was ever watchful and thoughtful for others, always ready and willing to make any sacrifice that would bring happiness or help to those about her.
Though the last few days of her earthly life were full of pain and suffering she bore it patiently, saying to those at her bedside that "To live is Christ, but to die is gain," feeling that she would soon be with her husband who had gone to his Heavenly home nearly one year before.
Her remains were placed in North Waterloo cemetery beside those of her husband.
