Biography

Hopestill Rose Morgan was born in Charlestown, Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts Bay Colony on 25 Apr 1669.^[1]

She was the daughter of Richard Rose Morgan and Hopestill Merrick Morgan

She married Nathaniel Chappell in New London, New London, Connecticut Colony before 1694. They had the following children:

Sarah Chappell Roach 20 June 1697 – Deceased

Samuel Chappell 21 December 1699 – February 1736

Eleazer Chappell 15 September 1702 – Deceased

Nathaniel died in 1712. On 12 Sep 1717, Hopestill became the third wife of widower Thomas Bolles at the First Church of Christ in New London.^[2] She died in New London on 11 Jul 1753.^[3]

"As the widow Bolles, her death is recorded, on 11 Jul 1753, "the widow Bole died." Next day, "old Hope Bole an old woman was buryed. She was the daughter of Richd Rose Morgan of this town and had several children (6 listed) by her first husband Natthll Chappel late of this Town decd & hath been maintained by the Town many years, aged near 90."
