This is the Uncle Bert Ross that Arthur Morgan worked for - Bert had contracts with the local Council, maintaining new council houses in the Millbrook area.[1]

1911 CENSUS: 59A Park Road, Freemantle, Southampton. Bertie Alfred Ross; head of household, single; house painter; 22 years of age, b c1889 Southampton, Hampshire; his mother Mary A Ross, married (but no husband in household), 65 years of age, born Cowe, Isle of Wight. She had been married for 30 years, and had given birth to 4 children, all still living.[7]
