Biography

Max was born January 15, 1901[1] in Ebelsbach, Deutschland. His parents were Siegfried Rosskamm and Gretchen (Fleischmann) Rosskamm.[2]

Max immigrated to escape the Holocaust. After his travel papers were issued August 2, 1938 in Hamburg, he left from there September 27, 1938 aboard the SS President Roosevelt and arrived October 9, 1938 in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States. Max, a clerk, was 5' 4" tall, of fair complexion with black hair and brown eyes, and was neither a polygamist nor an anarchist. His nearest relative in Germany was his wife Gertrud, who lived at 79 Humboldstrasse in Wandsbek and he planned to join his brother-in-law, Julius Bruck, who lived at 681 W. 193rd in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States.[3]

Max became a United States citizen sometime between his arrival and 1951.[4]

Max died October 1972 in Manhattan, New York, New York, United States.[1]
