Marie Desanges Roy was born on 18 Mar 1863 in Beauceville, the daughter of Damase Roy, farmer, and Apolline Mathieu. She was baptised the next day in the parish of St-François-d'Assise, with Louis Lessard and Brigitte Veilleux standing as her godparents. Neither signed, and her father was absent[1].
