Dorothy 'Jean' was born in July 1927 in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest daughter of Isaiah Rudy and Elsie Kesselring. She took all her schooling in Jansen and the attended Saskatoon Normal School and became a teacher. She taught at country schools near Viscount and Lockwood. She then taught at North Battleford until her mother became ill and she returned to Jansen to care for her and teach in Jansen School. She then moved to Yorkton. Jean superannuated in 1987 and retired in Yorkton. Dorothy Jean passed away in August 2009 and was buried in Yorkton City Cemetery.
