Mary Miller Russell was baptised on 20 March 1818 in Westmoreland, Jamaica.[1] She was aged about 12 at the time of her baptism. The church register noted that she was "a sable child belonging to Sarah Russell, a woman of colour and free condition, residing at St Anne's near Sav La Mar in Westmoreland."
