Elizabeth was born in 1808. She passed away in 1887.
"William Hood, 1805-87, of Roxburghshire, Scotland, his wife Elizabeth Rutherford, his mother, Agnes Ainslie Hood, and his two sons, William and Walter, settled, in 1831, on lots 31 and 32, conc. 5, Scarborough, where ten more children were born. Daughter Eleanor, b. 1845, recalled carrying her doll and the family frying pan at age five during their move into the new brick residence known as Bellbeck Castle. Later, William Hood retired to another new house built in the Victorian style across Steeles Avenue on part of lot 1, conc. 5, Markham (demolished 1975). In 1839, Mrs. Agnes Hood had bought part of lot 1, conc. 4 for 318 pounds. When her grandson, William, 1827-1909, married Janet Gordon in 1853, they took over this farm, building in 1859 a brick house in the new style with a front gable (demolished 1974). Later, his son, Walter Hood, with daughters Agnes and Elizabeth Hood, kept the Amber Post Office in this house until rural delivery began in 1912-14. Adam Hood, 1847-1920, married Isabella Gibson and farmed lots 3 and 4, conc. 5, where his son Colin, b. 1886, still (1977) lives in the house designed by architect E. G. Lennox and built in 1891-92. The day after Sir John A. Macdonald died, Mr. Hood, as a mark of respect for the Conservative statesman, forbade his builders to work. Thomas Hood, 1851-1906, farmed the Scarborough Hood homestead."
