Mary Rutherfoord was baptized 28 Oct 1720^[1] and born on the 26th October, 1720. She passed away 19 Jun 1797, age 76^[2]

She married Alexander Nisbet of Dean, Esq at Edinburgh Oct. 3, 1742. ^{[3] [4]}

She married Alexander Nisbet 3 Oct 1742 and was called Mally Rutherford in the newspaper announcement (The marriage record calls her Mary Rutherfoord)-- 1742 That Day ALEXANDER NISBET, Esq; a very eminent Merchant late of CHARLESTOUN in SOUTH CAROLINA, and brother-german to the deceast Sir JOHN NISBET of DEAN, Bart. was married to Miss MALLY RUTHERFORD, daughter to Sir JOHN RUTHERFORD, Bart. A most beautiful young Lady, with a handsome fortune ^[5]

Alexander Nisbett came to Carolina at some date before 1725, for in that year he bought certain contiguous tracts of land to which plantation he gave the name of Dean Hall, evidently taken from the estate of Dean in Scotland. What his business was has not been shown, but he held, as shown by the record, quite a number of mortgages, making it evident that he controlled or had the use of a good deal of money.

He married Mary Rutherfurd, daughter of Sir John Rutherfurd, and sister of Mr. Robert Rutherfurd later of Fairnington and of Mr. Walter Rutherfurd of New York. Mr. Robert Rutherfurd died 1794 and Mr. Walter Rutherfurd in 1804.

• Sir Henry 1745-1762^[6][7]died 1762 single, served heir to his father 19 Jun 1754. Infeft 1761, succeeded by his brother John
• Sir John 1746-1776 ^{[8] [9]}served heir to his brother 12 Sep 1764, infeft same year. He served with in the Royal Scots Greys, died spring 1776 drowned on passage from America married Claudine Favre, a French lady.
