Biography
Andrew Ruyle, Jr. was born in 1851. He was the son of Andrew Ruyle and Charity McCollom of Greene Co., IL. He married Malinda Strawmatt, daughter of Henry H. Strawmatt and Lucy Ann Sharp, on 04 April 1875 Greene Co., IL. Twelve children were born to this marriage: Nora Elizabeth, Henry Andrew, Charles Walter, Edna Mable, James Thurlo, Verne Arden (Donnie Ruyle's Father), Inis Louisa, Furgis Ferdinand, Wiley Emery, Chloe Malinda and George Washington. He passed away in 1932.
NOTE: Andrew was not named with a middle name. He added the J.as his middle name later in life. The reason was he and father Andrew Ruyle,Sr. were getting their mail mixed up at the Felter Post Office (Felter was the name of the community around the Richwoods Church).
