Susannah was born in 1846 to Johan Henrich Andersson Saari and Anna Maria Johansdotter. [1] Her twin sister Britha Maja died when she was 2 months [2] and her mother died when she was six [3]
The family with step mother Lisa Michelsdotter stayed at the Saari estate [4][5] until 1867 when they moved to Oulainen [6] taking the family name Waara [7] until settling for the name Viitanen. [8] Here she married Anders Andersson Stor the next year [9] and moved back to Ylivieska. [10][11][12]
In the 1900 census she lived with her son Fredrik in Greenland, Ontonagon, Michigan. [13]
