Biography

Judith Sackville, was d. & coh. of John Sackville of Chiddinglegh, Sussex.[1] Visitations, asserts that her father was the uncle of the Lord of Buckhurst.[2]

According to Town (2010), Judith was the daughter of Thomas Sackville of Chiddingly, Sussex, who married Christopher, grandson & heir of William Gardiner (1531-97).[3]

In Common Pleas

There's a case for debt in Common Pleas in 1596:[4] Eleanor Gaynesforde, widow versus Christopher Gardener, of Darkinge, Surrey, gent; Judith his wife; William Crowe, of Brasted, Kent, gent; Anne his wife; Melissa Sackvile, of Chidinglye, Sussex, spinster; Elizabeth Sackvile, of Chidingly, spinster; Rose Sackvile, of Chidingly, spinster; Mary Sackvile, of Chidingly, spinster, daughters of John Sackvile, of Chidingly, esq; Sackvile Porter, of London, gent, kinsman of John Sackvyle.

So Judith and her sisters Anne, Melissa, Elizabeth, Rose, and Mary were the daughters of John Sackvile of Chidingly, Esquire.
