Biography
Samuel was born in England in 1780 and would emigrate to Virginia before 1804 when he married Nancy Ritenour (Ridenour/Rittenour), the oldest daughter of Michael and Catherine Ritenour. They would have at least three children, Elizabeth (Sample) Dunlap, Samuel Sample, Jr. and Susannah Sample.
The family would move from Virginia west into Ohio and settle in the Preble County area.
Samuel was 75. passing away in 1855.
