Biography

Henry Ernest Sanbrook was born 19 November 1910 at Llanwarne, Herefordshire, the son of Ernest Hallard Sanbrook and Mary Dickson Sanbrook nee Sherratt. ^[1] His date of birth was recorded in the 1939 Register.

In the 1911 census Henry was living with his parents at Llanwarne Shop, Llanwarne, Herefordshire. He was aged 4 months. ^[2]

The Postal Service Appointment Registers confirmed Henry E Sanbrook commenced working for them in June 1934 as a skilled workman in the Engineering Department. ^[3]

The London Gazette dated 10 August 1934, Pages 5122 and 5123, under the heading Certificated Issued and dated 4 July 1934 recorded Henry Ernest Sanbrook was a skilled workman in the Post Office. ^[4]

The 1939 Register, taken on 29 September 1939, has been described as a snapshot of the civilian population of England and Wales just after the outbreak of the Second World War. The Register recorded each person's address, date of birth and occupation.
Henry was then residing in the home of Charlotte Moore at 8 Emery Close, Birmingham. Aged 28, he was employed at the P.O. Engineering Department. His date of birth was recorded as 19 October 1910. ^[5]

Henry E Sanbrook married Vera M Stokes in 1939 at Birmingham. ^[6]

This couple had two children.

Henry Ernest Sanbrook died in 1978 aged 67 years. ^[7]
