Lou was born in 1881. She passed away in 1951.

Lou Etta's daughter, Ruth Walker Boyd, told the story to her grandson, Mark Boyd, that Lou Etta had been dealing with depression for a long time. She ended her life by drowning herself in a rain barrel.
