Marriage report, The Brisbane Courier September 5 1930 p20: "GRAYSON - SANDS The Rev W Maitland officiated at a pictureque wedding in St Thomas' Presbyterian Church (Dalby) on August 29, when Mr Francis William Grayson (second son of Mr and Mrs F Grayson, Killarney, Warwick) and Miss Ruby Victoria Sands (second daughter of Mr and Mrs F Sands, Exobie, Jandowae, and formerly of Victoria) were married. Mrs Napier presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory mariette over a slip of white crepe de Chine, finished at the waist with a trail of velvet camelias and small buds. Her veil (kindly let by Mrs Grogan, Victoria) was of Brussels net, worn with a bandeau of orange buds and pearls. Miss Annie Sands (sister of the bride), who attended as bridesmaid, wore a frock of pink mariette, finished at the waist with a large diamante buckle. she added a hat of pink visca straw, with shaded velvet leaves, and wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. Miss Jill Sands (youngest sister of the bride), who attended as flower girl, was frocked in lemon georgette, adorned with embroidered flowers in pastel shades. She wore a bandeau of tulle, and carried a basket of sweet peas from the garden of Mr T Henderson, Ascot, Brisbane. She also wore a gold armlet, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr Allan Grayson was best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at Avoca Cafe (Dalby), where Mrs Sands received her guests wearing an ensemble of black silk lace and georgette, finished with a diamante buckle. Her hat of beige Bangkok straw was trimmed with shaded velvet leaves to tone. Mrs F Grayson (mother of the bridegroom) wore a navy tailored frock and a navy hat with soft silk trimmings. On leaving for the honeymoon, which is being spent on an extended motoring tour of the Northern Rivers, the bride wore an ensemble of brown satin beaute, showing a vest of mastic. The future home of Mr and Mrs Grayson will be at Clifton, where Mr Grayson is a member of the staff of the QN Bank."
