Biography

Derk Jans was born in 1742 in Dalen, Drenthe. He was the son of Jan Derksen Santing and Fenne Hindriks. Derk was baptized on 16 September 1742.[1]

On April 9, 1772 Derk concluded a marriage contract with Johanna Maria Lustig. Present were Johanna's father Johan Wilhelm, step-mother Margareta, and sisters Dorothea and Jacoba Wilhelmina. Dirk's side was represented by Jan ten Post.[2]

Dirk's marriage with Johanna Maria was announced on May 1, 1772. Johanna Maria was accompanied by her father Jacob Wilhelm Lustig, a famous Groninger organist and musician.[3]

Derk was buried on 28 November 1801 in Groningen.[9]
