Biography

Louise was born in 1860. She married Karl or Karol Wildeman in Puchawa in the Ukraine. They had thirteen children; four died in the Ukraine and two died at birth. In early 1901, Karl Louise and their children: Julianna, Tobias, Martha and Robert emigrated from Volhynia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. They then boarded a train and travelled to Winnipeg, Manitoba and then went on to settle in Neche, North Dakota. They stayed there until 1904 and then went to Gretna, Manitoba.

In 1905 they moved by rail to Watson, SK and then walked to their homestead near Esk, Saskatchewan. They lived in a tent until a log house could be built. Karl died in 1916. She had a sale on their farm and moved into Esk. She lived alone part of the time and part of the time she lived with some of her children. She passed away in September, 1948.
