Anna Gertraut Schick's baptism was not found among those at Bosenheim, Bad Kreuznach district in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Her father Valentine Schick landed in Philadelphia in 1741, and Anna Getraut was probably born about the same time.
She was named in her father's 1763 will written in German as Gärtteraut Holtz.[1] A rough translation is on her father's page. Another more brief abstract has also been published.[2]
Her husband is identified when on 30 November 1761 Thomas Holtz and wife Anna Gerdraut had a daughter Margaretha Holtz baptized. The sponsors were Jurg Adam Hans and Eva Margaretha Holtzin[3]
