Biography

Lucille was born October 7, 1921 to Albert and Genefeva (Koehmstedt) Schill in Dresden Township near Mt. Carmel, ND. She was raised and attended schools in the area.

She married Joseph Simon Dumas October 30, 1947 in Langdon, ND. Joe and Lucy owned and operated a bowling alley and bar called "The Cave" in Langdon. In 1954, they moved to Hillsboro, ND and opened "Joe's Pool Hall" that later became Joe's Corner Café. Lucy and Joe worked all aspects of the restaurant business while raising their family.

She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Altar Society and Christian Mothers. Her every day life was a true testimonial of her faith. She was known for her work ethic and as was featured in the Fargo Forum Labor Day 2008. After her husband's death in 1995, she moved to Fargo and became a member of the Holy Spirit Church. She continued to work in the restaurant business as an employee. Her last 7 years, she worked at Hardee's on Main until the day of her passing.
