Biography

From her age at death, Elizabethe Schimpf was born about 1841.

Marriage. In 1859, in the Colony of Victoria, she married Johann Friedrich Illies.

Widowed. Johann died 1863, aged 34, after being injured when he was dragged by a horse. ^[1]

Elizabeth Illies died 9th August 1923, aged 82, in Bendigo, Victoria. At the time of her death, she lived at Eaglehawk, Victoria. ^[2]

Estate. She died intestate. Administration records records two surviving children, Elizabeth Catherine White and Edward Illies. There were also grandchildren, being the children of Julia Hartley, deceased, but enquiries could find neither their names or whereabouts. Elizabeth's personal estate was worth 323 pounds, one shilling and fourpence. ^[3]
