Research Notes

Note Peter's second marriage? SCHMITT ROWLAND December q 1902 Southwark 1d 360.

Peter Schmitt first appears in the 1881 census aged 28. He was born in Germany and his father, William, was a builder. Where in Germany he came from I don't know. There are a number of bakers named Schmitt living and working in and around Peter, possibly brothers.
