Mary was born in May, 1860.[1] She was the daughter of Conrad Scholl and Catharine Vogel.[2] In August, 1870, at age 9, she was living with her parents, all of her siblings, and the husband and young son of her oldest sister, Catherine in Hempstead, Queens, NY.[2]
At the age of 40, she married Rev. Thomas Nicholas Laine 25 April 1900 in Kings County, NY. [3] By June 12, 1900, she was living with her husband, age 60, and his 32-year-old daughter, Grace M. Laine, in Durham Town, Middlesex, Connecticut.[1]
In 1910, she was living with her husband and his daughter in Newtown, Fairfield Co., Connecticut, some 40 miles west of their home in 1900.[4]
She passed away 7 July 1922 in Newtown, Connecticut[5] and was buried at Hillside Cemetery in Cheshire, Connecticut.[6][7]
