Biography

Thomas A was born about 1809[1][2], the son of Thomas Clagett Scott and Anne Hedwick Boone who resided in Croom, MD adjacent to the Clagett family and Plantation.

He married Anne E Graham (abt 1812[1] - 19 Dec 1871[3]), daughter of William and Aloysia (b. abt 1789[1])Graham about 1834. It appears she was born in Loudan, VA probably near Harpers Ferry where her parents had moved and died by 1871[3].

They moved to Washington where they are observed in the 5th wd by 1860[1]. Penmanship looks like 'Scoot'. He was listed as a 'clerk in Department' likely in government service. On 15 July 1861, he was 'general manager' probably for the military as he signed off on a 'Special Notice to Travelers' for a 'United States Military Route' between Washington and Baltimore[4]

In Washington, he fathered at least 2 sons and six daughters enumerated in 1860[1]:

Widowed age71 resided with his sister, Ellen R, age 66 operating a 'boarding house' are enumerated in 1880[2] .

He died on 22 Jul 1885 age 71 in Washington and buried at [Glenwood Cemetery| Find A Grave: Memorial #146872332], Washington, District of Columbia.
