Evelyn Scown, daughter of Earnest Albert Scown & Emily Packer, was born on 31 March 1913 in Bordertown, Wellington, South Australia, Australia.^[1]

In 1939 Evelyn married Walter Raymond Smith. Their wedding was reported in the Border Chronicle (Bordertown, SA : 1908 - 1950), Fri 14 Jul 1939, Page 7 ^[2]

Miss Evelyn Scown to Mr Ray Smith

Mundalla Church of Christ chapel was the setting, at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21st, for the marriage of Evelyn, third daughter of Mr and Mrs E. A. Scown, of Cannawigra, to Walter Raymond, only son of Mr and Mrs W. J. Smith, Bordertown. Pastor W. A. Russell performed the ceremony. The chapel was prettily decorated in autumn tonings by Mrs Bowd, friend of the bride.

Mr and Mrs Smith will later take up their residence in Bordertown.

Evelyn (Scown) Smith died in 1999. She was buried at Bordertown Cemetery, Bordertown, Tatiara District Council, South Australia (plot: Granite Lawn - H22). ^[3] Her gravestone reads:
