Celia Scurlock was born on February 4, 1867 in Sabine County, Texas, United States, daughter of John Scurlock (1834–1913) and Adlaide Moore (1843–1912).
Celia married Vance Greer (born on March 9, 1865 in Texas; son of Daniel Greer Sr and Adaline Courtney Greer). Their children were:
- Walter Cleveland Greer (1887–1963)
- Pearl Greer (1891–1991)
- Alonzo Gilbert Greer (1895–1972)
- Addie Zerlie Greer (1900–1969)
- C Marvin Greer (1900–1939)
- Bertha Lee Greer (1907–1908)

Celia died on July 20, 1953 in Center, Shelby County, Texas, aged 86.[1] She was buried in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.
