David Sears was born on 27 Apr 1746 in Harwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of John Sears Sr. (1701 - 1774) and Grace (Paddock) Sears (1716 - 1780).[1]

David married Phoebe Taylor (1746 - 1784) on 8 Aug 1773 in Harwich. Their daughter was Rebecca (Sears) Wheeler (1775 - 1837).

David died about Aug 1778 in Harwich aged ~32.
