Bromhell. The manor (extent given), with the advowson of the free chapel of Burle, held of the archbishop of Canterbury by homage, and service of 1/2 knight’s fee, and suit at the court of Canterbury; 140a. arable and 40a. pasture, held of Stephen de Romene by service of 72s. yearly rent, and suit of court; 18a. pasture held of the abbot of Battle (de Bello) by service of 5s. 3d. yearly rent, and suit of court; and 9a. pasture and 5a. pasture, held of the prior of Bilsyngton by service of 2s. 7 1/2d. yearly rent, and suit of court.
