Biography

Babe was born 21 Jan 1907 in Colson, Letcher, KY. He was the son of James Sexton and Martha Sexton.^{[1] [2]}

In 1910, Babe, 3, was living in Letcher, KY with his parents, JIm, 42, and Martha, 42. Also in the household were John D, 20, Ada, 18, Bud, 16, Lizzie, 13, Willie, 12, Cindy, 10, Polly, 9, Stephen, 7, and Boyd, 6. Babe was born in KY.^[3]

In 1920, Babe, 12, was living in Colson, Letcher, KY with his divorced mother, Martha, 52. Also in the household were Ada, 27, Polly, 19, Stevey, 17, Boyd, 15, and Nannie, 8. Babe was not in school nor working. He was unable to read or write.^[4]
