William Seymour (1775-1848) was a U.S. Congressman from New York in the 24th Congress (1835-1837).[1]
Rep. Seymour was born 22 Feb 1775 in Connecticut. He died 28 December 1848 in Binghamton, New York. He was interred in Binghamton Cemetery and reinterred in Glenwood Cemetery.[2]
William was born 22 February 1775, the son of David Seymour and Achsa Welton (daughter of Stephen and Abigail Baldwin Welton). He married 1) Polly Andrews (b. at Oquaga, NY; daughter of Levi and Mary Judd Andrews), 2) Esther Beecher (who died in 1823), and 3) Phebe Warner.[3]
William was Justice of the Peace for Windsor 1812-1828; Judge of County Court 1833; a Democratic Congressman 1835-1837; he had five children.[4]
