At the time of the 1920 census, Harry and family lived in Washington County, Colorado. The 1910 census lists the family in Nebraska.
ECKLEY SECTION FOREMAN DROPS DEAD AT HIS HOME
An aged man dropped dead as he entered his home in Eckley at a very early hour Tuesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. H. Shadley, who had been visiting with children at McCook, Nebraska for a week, returned to their home in Eckley on Tuesday morning shortly after 4 o'clock. Just as he crossed the threshold of his home, Mr. Shadley dropped to the floor and died almost instantly. The attending physician declared that death was caused by apoplexy. The deceased had been a foreman of the section gang for the Burlington at Eckley for some time. He leaves twelve adult children.
