Biography

William was born in 1832. He is the son of John Shahan and Mary White.

Hi Larry, I am writing to give info on William Harvey Shahan. He was the husband of my 2nd great aunt, Lettyann Hamilton. They married about 1860 in Walker county Ga. (source 1860 census, Ga.) and are on the 1860 census together. He was wounded at the battle of 2nd Manasses. Died two days after, Sept 1 1862. Lettyann went to court with her grandfather to prove she was married, so she could receive a widows pension.
