"Albert Sharnikow was born on September 8, 1854, in Germany, the child of Freidrich Sharnikow and Albertine [Juhl]. He married Emma Mell on October 5, 1888, in Sheldon, Iowa. They had four children in 11 years. He died on October 10, 1941, at the age of 87."
