BARTLEY--SHEEHY. (Goulburn Evening Penny Post - 5 Apr 1921)
A quiet but pretty and interesting little wedding was celebrated by Rev. Mgr. Vaughan at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Crookwell, on Easter Monday, when Mr. Walter Lawrence Bartley, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bartley, of Goulburn, was married to Miss Catherine (Katie) Mary Sheehy, only daughter of the late Mr. James Sheehy and Mrs. Sheehy of Crookwell. The bride, who was given away by her mother wore a handsome cream tailor-made costume with hat en suite. Miss Pearce, intimate friend of the bride and Matron of the Sacred Heart College, Dubbo, attended as bridesmaid wearing a pretty costume of ivory voile with white tagel hat. Mr. Timothy Sheehy (Wheeo), cousin of the bride, acted as best man. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was a diamond ring, and, to the bridesmaid, a silver backed comb and brush in case. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links with mono-gram engraved. Immediately after the ceremony the wedding party motored to the residence of the bride's mother, where a reception was held. Later Mr. and Mrs. Bartley motored to Goulburn en route to the metropolis and Blue Mountains, where the honeymoon is being spent, the bride travelling in a wine-coloured gabardine tailor-made costume with hat to match. The presents were useful, handsome, and costly and included several cheques. Mr. and Mrs. Bartley's future home will be in Goulburn.[7]
