(Lt.) Isaac Shepard, born at Plainfield, Conn., 14 Sept. 1700, died there 11 Oct. 1748 (aged 48, g.s.); married by 1723 Mary Stevens.[1]
Isaac Shepard was Deputy for Plainfield to the General Assembly, May 1739. In Oct. 1739 he was confirmed Ensign of the second company in Plainfield, and Lieutenant of the same, May 1745.[2]
On 30 Mar. 1727 Isaac and Mary Shepard signed a receipt to Thomas Stevens, administrator of the estate of John Hall of Plainfield, deceased, for personal estate set to "our honored mother Ruth Stevens dec’d, sister of sd dec’d."[3]
Isaac’s will, dated 2 July 1748, proved 8 Nov. 1748, named wife Mary, sons Isaac, John, Job and Abraham, daughters Mary and Lydia Shepard, and son Reuben. On 26 May 1752, administration on the estate of Isaac’s widow Mary granted to Timothy Wheeler.[4]
