Biography

Emma Melia Shillington was born in Goulbourn on July 31, 1867, daughter of Thomas Shillington (and mother M). She was baptized in Goulbourn on March 23, 1868.^[1]

In 1871, Emma (3) was the youngest of 4 children in the home of Thomas and Margaret Shillington in Goulbourn.^[2]

Emma married Charles Noble Tubman on 25 October 1892 in Carleton, Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of Thomas Shillington and Margaret Henderson.^[3]

In 1911 Emma Tubman was listed as a widow. She was living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan with her daughter, Eva (13), and her niece, Laura Shillington (15). Emma was employed as a teacher and also took in lodgers .^[4]
