Biography

Lewis M Shines is a part of US Black heritage.

Lewis M was born in 1907. He was the son of Oliver Shines and Roberta McManaway. In 1910 he was living with his parents and siblings in Giles Countyl, Tennessee.^[1]

Lewis married Mary Patterson in 1933 in Giles County, Tennessee.^[2]

Lewis moved to Indianapolis, Indiana around 1941, where he worked for the Chevrolet DIvision of General Motors for 22 years. Lewis was also a Baptist minister.^[3]

Lewis was married to Elizabeth when he passed away in 1965 in Indiana.^[4] Lewis was survived by his wife Elizabeth, two daughters, a son, three sisters, three brothers and grandchildren.
