Jervis registered for the World War I draft on September 12, 1918[3] and did not serve in this war.
Jervis married Esther P McCartney August 16, 1905[4] and they made their home in Wharton Township, Pennsylvania[5][6][7] and Albuquerque, New Mexico until her death December 13, 1945. Together they raised five children; Lena M Show, Wendell W Show, Willis Everett Show,[8] twins Dorothy Pearl Show and Donovan Paul Show. Jervis supported his family as a farmer, road builder and finally as a mail carrier. He died December 8, 1955 and is buried in Samson Chapel, Farmington, Pennsylvania.[9][10]
