The unexpected death of Mrs Ellen Leigh, relict of Mr William Leigh,
came as a great shock to her family and host of Mt Morgan friends.
Born in Kent, England, 66 years ago, Mrs Leigh came to Mt Morgan with her husband and family of three sons and two daughters 33 years ago and lived there all her life.
She took a great interest in church affairs and was a member of the Mt Morgan Baptist Church and Church of Christ, Rockhampton.
Of a kindly and happy nature she was beloved by all who knew her.
Her husband predeceased her some few years ago.
She leaves a family of three sons and two daughters and 11 grandchildren.
They are
Herbert William (Rockhampton),
Thomas (Mt Morgan),
Henry Charles (Rockhampton),
Mrs G. Houseman (Mt Morgan) and
Mrs J. Cain (Rockhampton).
Mrs Mary Ann Whitehead, of Rockhampton, is a sister.
Her funeral, which moved from the Mt Morgan Baptist Church, was well attended, testifying to the esteem in which she and her family are held.
The Rev. Jensen, of the Mt Morgan Baptist Church, and the Rev. Millar, of the Rockhampton Church of Christ, conducted the services.
