Biography

Alvah is the son of John Sibley and Emma Littlefield. Alvah went by his middle name Leon. He was born in Greenbush, Maine 18 Jul 1895. [1]

Looks like Alvah may have had a child out of wedlock with Ivadean Harris when they were teenagers named Florence Harris?

Leon was married to Marenia Hurd on June 29, 1915 in Old Town, Maine.[2]

He died in Bangor, Maine 21 Feb 1969.[3] He is buried at Mount Repose Cemetery in Burlington, Maine with his wife.[4]

Obituary

ALVAH LEON SIBLEY, BURLINGTON - Alvah Leon Sibley, 73, of Burlington, died Friday in a Bangor hospital following a long illness. He was born in Greenbush the son of John and Emma Littlefield Sibley. He lived in Grand Falls Plantation most of his life where he was a lumberman and guide. Surviving are his widow, Marenia Sibley of Burlington, four sons, Woodrow of Sherman, Franklin of Lincoln, Alvah of Manchester, Conn., and Francis Sibley of Scarborough; five daughters, Mrs. Thelma Harriman, Grand Falls, Mrs. Hortense Farrington, Brewer, Mrs. Carolyn Boyington, West Wellington, Conn., Mrs. Kathleen Noyes, Chelmsford, Mass. and Mrs. Shirley Dam, Bucksport; 35 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Clay Funeral Home, 3 Lee Street, Lincoln, where friends may call Sunday between 2 and 4, and 7 and 9 p.m. Spring burial will be in Mt. Repose Cemetery.[5]
