“In the 1800’s Blumenthal was one of three parishes in Horst, which lies somewhat between the Hechthausen and Oldendorf – 10-15 miles west-northwest of the city of Stade” F.B.
Godparents: Peter Schmidt from Schwinge, Friedrich Goossen and Anne Margrete Horeis. He brought his family to the Scandia area, which was about 4-5 miles from Fairfield CA. Children of Klaus and Marie are Anna Siebe Garben b.1868 d.1959, Mary Mortenson and J. Peter Siebe. Anna had two sons: Harry Garben and Arthur Garben who is the narrator of the audio companion to the Siebe history.
