Eliza Mehair "Lizzie" Skelly was born on 25 Feb 1884 at Magheralave, Derryaghy, County Antrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of William Skelly and Mary Roberts.[1][2]
On 2 January 1908 she married Richard Cowan at the Railway Street Church, Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland. Fathers: William Skelly / William Cowan; Witnesses: Richard Simpson & Ellen Skelly.[3][4]

When one of their sons was born on 11 August 1910 at Grand St, Lisburn, Antrim, Ireland, Richard, a labourer, was living in Clydebank, Glasgow, Scotland
In 1911 Richard Cowan (31), Lizzie Cowan (38) and Esther Cowan (3) lived in West Kilpatrick, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. [5]
Son, Richard Cowan, was born on 29 July 1914 in Grand St, Lisburn and the family were living there now, including father, Richard, a labourer.
Lizzie Cowan, from 38 Malt St, Belfast, age 42, married, passed away on 10 Nov 1918 at the Belfast Hospital, 51 Lisburn Road from Influenza Pneumonia.[6]
She was buried at the Belfast City Cemetery.[7]
